Altena Castle - Restoration of the gates
There are several legends about the origin of Altena Castle. It was probably built at the beginning of the 12th century by the Counts Adolf and Everhard von Berg. It stands on a spur of the Klusenberg.
Today you can visit many of the exhibition rooms located in the castle buildings. There is also a restaurant. The castle is owned by the Märkischer Kreis, which carries out ongoing maintenance work.
In the Altena castle, the Mühlenhof Restaurierungen GmbH restored the gate systems.
